The Opportunity

Our location in Lake Bluff, Illinois, currently has an opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our Finance team supporting Abbott’s Corporate area.

The Finance Manager role in Corporate FP&A supports our Global Marketing, Global Citizenship and Government Affairs teams and supports/manages business projects. The position will partner with business leaders to advise and guide financial performance and achieve business goals. The position has one direct report.

What you'll work on:

  • The Finance Manager is a financial partner and counsel to Global Marketing, Global Citizenship and Government Affairs teams and is responsible for financial planning and analysis, decision support and project support.

  • Key aspects of the role include meeting with business partners to review actual results and gain intelligence for forecasts and other analytics, reviewing actual results and forecasts with Finance management and participating in other key activities and projects to support the business including ad hoc analysis which enables timely and effective business decisions.

  • Responsible for managing a Senior Financial Analyst and ensuring the professional growth and development of this person as well as any other staff that may be added.

  • Attend staff meetings and other strategic meetings providing advice and counsel to the leadership teams.

  • Prepares and presents decks and other financial analysis to Business and Finance leadership teams for actuals, forecasts, projects and other ad-hoc analytics.

  • Participates in the consolidation of financial results and forecasts for part or all of a Corporate function.

  • Partners with Finance colleagues on Cash Flow management and analytics.

  • Prepares and supports financial evaluation and implementation of capital projects and other business investments.

  • Initiates and implements process improvements across departments and work groups. Develops and proposes solutions to business and financial issues.

  • Actively promotes a positive team environment. Participates in talent development opportunities including training and mentoring. Prioritizes self-development and continuous learning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in accounting or finance

  • 7-10 years of finance and/or accounting experience.

  • Proficient with financial modeling tools including Excel, PowerPoint and other FP&A applications

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact with and support business partners

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work on multiple priorities and execute in a fast-paced environment

The base pay for this position is $109,300.00 – $218,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
