NextGen Federal Systems Information Assurance Engineer in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
NextGen is seeking motivated, career and customer-oriented technical staff to join our team! This new and exciting program provides research and development (R&D) services for complex system of systems architectures operating across multiple operational theatres. We will develop and implement data centric capabilities to fill urgent needs and support end-user operational requirements and provide R&D services including software engineering activities, software engineering support, and technology modernization and insertion. This will enable our customer to provide effective intelligence command and control tools.
The Information Assurance Engineer provides, evaluates, and addresses systems cybersecurity risk. They will interface and coordinate with the technical and management teams in addition to all levels of government stakeholders to ensure that all cybersecurity risks are addressed and Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) maintained.
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD
Responsibilities:
Support the Assessment and Authorization of DoD systems, software, and networks in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), utilizing the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) system.
Work with the Information Assurance team and system stakeholders to manage all security compliance activities including control assessments, POA&Ms, STIGs, and IV&V
Provide the necessary support to monitor and ensure compliance with information security policies, procedures and regulatory requirements including assistance with internal auditing, reporting, technical reviews, and identification of security risks.
Support the implementation and administration of information security policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure the protection of systems, applications, and data on tactical and development networks by working hand and hand with technical SMEs, systems administrators and engineers.
Assist with drafting, reviewing, editing, and recommending guidance for Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Tactics, Techniques, & Procedures (TTP), System Security Plans (SSP), Plan Of Action and Milestones (POA&M), and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).
Provide stakeholder reporting on all activities including system ATO statuses, and system cybersecurity risk.
Experience interfacing with technical, management and government stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
Experience working to achieve and maintain system Authorizations to Operate (ATOs)
IAT Level II (Security+ CE)
2+ years experience working with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and eMASS
3+ years of work experience with a Bachelors degree, 7+ years of work experience with an Associates degree, or 9+ years of work experience with no degree is required
TS/SCI with Polygraph
Desired:
Experience with Task Management tracking
IAT Level III preferred (CISSP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP)
