Koniag Government Services Senior ServiceNow Platform Engineer in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

Koniag Management Solutions , a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Platform Engineer with a Secret Clearance to support KMS and our government customer. This position is remote.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Advanced JavaScript development skills including applicability within the ServiceNow ecosystem

  • Advanced HTML development skills

  • Advanced ServiceNow development and architecture skills including creating custom scoped applications

  • Advanced experience in promoting code up the stack via both application repository and update sets and diagnosing and fixing any errors that may occur.

  • Experience in Service Portal and AngularJS including custom widget development, extension of OOB widgets and utilization of 3rd party libraries within ServiceNow

  • Experience utilizing bi-directional ServiceNow API capabilities (REST/SOAP) including scripted REST API’s.

  • Experience creating and utilizing flows and actions in Flow Designer

  • Experience with JSON

  • Ability to derive architecture that follows best practice from functional requirements

  • Ability to design relational databases following best practice

  • Preferred: ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification

  • Manages cross functional teams to identify operational procedures and best practices in accordance with patch management strategy.

  • Experience with ensuring that the instance is running the most current patch level.

  • Maintains ticket queues for new patching or change requests

  • Ability to perform upgrades, patches, and hot fixes when available to ensure the risk of potential vulnerabilities are mitigated.

  • Fundamental knowledge of networking including TCP/IP ports and firewalls, network protocols, and IP networks

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with ability to demonstrate influence in a consultative fashion to stakeholders and other team members.

  • A fundamental understanding of ITSM, ITIL or CMDB

  • Experience with extending the ServiceNow schema to custom applications

  • Ability to perform ServiceNow Application Configuration

  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving platform performance issues

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Certifications in at least 2 disciplines on the ServiceNow Platform

  • Minimum of 5yrs experience on the ServiceNow platform servicing as a Sr Developer and/or Architect

  • Experience and strong knowledge of ServiceNow coding best practices

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
