Job Description

Performs a variety of duties concerned with the operations, maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification on a wide variety of complex industrial HVAC equipment. Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Operates temperature controlled indoor firing ranges that use multiple types of refrigerants and equipment to maintain critical temperature and humidity test requirements. * Monitors/controls the facility support equipment using automated control workstations. * Performs control setups, instrumentation monitoring and general instrument operations. * Assists in setting up data acquisition systems to record/retrieve/report data. * Performs facility test operations, preventive maintenance, repairs and visual inspections on all equipment. * Interprets and troubleshoots blueprints, drawings, diagrams and schematics. * Assists technicians from private industry during large repairs or modifications. * Operates indoor range HVAC equipment from a PC-based workstation. * Accesses range test environment information. * Initiates set points and operational changes. * Monitors alarms and responds promptly with the necessary repairs. * Assists personnel to meet test requirements, responsible for ongoing review and maintenance of facility equipment operating procedures. * Maintains bench-stock of spare parts and supplies. * Wears appropriate PPE when required.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications * Must have 5 yr. of applicable experience or at least 60 credit hours or an Associate’s Degree and 3 yrs. applicable experience; or 30 credit hours and 4 yrs. applicable experience; or completion of a formal training program and 3 yrs. applicable experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year applicable experience. * Shall possess basic computer skills. * Shall possess an Ammunition Certification Level I in accordance with ATC Regulation 350-8 within 6 months of employment. * 50% of all levels combined shall possess a Maryland State HVAC Journeyman’s License or equivalent. * 50% of all levels combined shall possess a Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification * Shall possess certification for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) within 6 months of employment. * Shall possess a license to operate forklift(s) and other required support equipment. Physical Qualifications * The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment and sometimes in the field where you are subject to the environment. * Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time. * Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted. * Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time. * Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned. * Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilities. Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements * Must be a U.S. Citizen. * Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. * Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions. * Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests. * Must be able to successfully complete a background check. * Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
