Presentation Sisters Convent & College - Aberdeen Finance Director in ABERDEEN, South Dakota
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains the General Ledger system, prepares monthly journal entries and reconciles accounts within general journal; approves Congregation bills for payment; maintains analysis of balance sheet accounts. Prepares/reviews monthly financial statements including requested analysis; reconciles bank statement to computer check register and accountant's check register. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required and experience with QuickBooks is strongly desired.

Coordinates annual budget preparation and monitors overall expenditures in relation to annual budget; provides financial consultations with Sisters regarding their local community budgets; coordinates purchase of all computer equipment; reviews reports on purchases, transfers, and deletion of equipment for reports and the depreciation list.

``` 3. Prepares work papers to accommodate the auditors; coordinates and maintains annual information on active Sisters for audit purposes; reviews and acts upon the reports and recommendations of the auditors.

``` 4. Compiles reports received from Investment Managers, informs the Congregational President of possible needed action, and makes any fund transfers with the approval of Leadership.

Processes payroll and work closely with Human Resource Department with salaries, benefits, and required record keeping; compiles and prepares annual information for Presentation Sisters' and Convent employees' W-2 forms. Coordinates and verifies totals that are submitted to the IRS; prepares quarterly tax reports for employee salaries; prepares the Federal Tax Return (941), and State Unemployment Contribution and Wage Report.

``` 6. Retains records of real estate, bank accounts, maintains updated documentation of Corporate Authority forms and signature cards;

``` 7. Maintains records of Congregation automobiles; handles insurance/accident reports; maintains records of drivers licenses for purposes of insurance.
Serves as a member of the Congregational Finance Committee and assist the Investment Committee; coordinates financial activities in accord with the directives and policies set forth by the Leadership Council
Supervises accountant position.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and two years of work experience in general accounting, audit and preparation of financial statements or a degree from business school and five years of applicable work experience in the designated areas required.
Physical Requirements:
