Summary
To organize and train the associates to meet production demands as directed by supervision, while maintaining an environment of teamwork. The Line Lead will help assure compliance to applicable Food safety, USDA, Quality Assurance, and Plant specific Standards.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist supervision by monitoring rotating schedules of hourly production associates, while training and enhancing the skills to physically perform the duties of each position within the department.
Assist supervision in the selection and retention of all assigned associates by creating and maintaining a positive teamwork environment.
Provide to the associates all equipment, tools, and required resources for successful job performance.
Assist supervision in maintaining quality standards while meeting the published production and Quality Index goals, by performing all necessary quality checks during production.
Display the results as instructed in order to communicate conformance to standardized performance goals. Where applicable, maintain MOS (PBIP) boards with updated information. Attending and/or facilitating the scheduled team meetings will serve as the main opportunity for communicating the standards and goals.
Adhere to all safety requirements regarding personal protective equipment (PPE), Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures and process safety management (PSM) related matters. Prevent and report all unsafe acts, conditions, accidents, and/or injuries to supervision and the Wellness Center staff.
Minimum Education
High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.
Experience Requirements
6 Months of production related experience.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
When in a plant environment:
Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
Able to stand for several hours.
Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
Experience Preferred
Must have lead or supervisory experience in a production environment.
