Forklift Operator - Addison, IL

Job Description

Candidate will be operating a sit-down forklift and taking product off the line and placing it on freight trucks.

Primary Duties Include:

• Operate propane sit-down lift trucks.

• Make labels for each production run and verify correct information is on the label.

• Apply labels and feet to each pallet.

• Verify piece counts on each pallet and compare it to the label.

• Inspect material for quality defects.

• Take product off the production line and put it away in designated locations in the warehouse.

• Keep the production line clear and running.

• Keep rows straight and leave at least a 2-4 inch distance between pallets.

• Utilize RF Scanners.

• Work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 1 year+ of sit down forklift experience

  • Manufacturing or warehouse experience

  • RF scanner

  • HSD or GED equivalent

Work Environment

This position is within a manufacturing/warehouse environment with 50+ employees between the office and production floor. The facility includes several production lines with various machines, including but not limited to saws and slitters. Candidates will have to walk through or over conveyor systems to reach different areas of the saws, with all walkways provided in a safe manner. The facility operates as an open-door environment with trucks frequently loading and unloading product. Candidates must be comfortable working in conditions that are hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
