The Cary Company Logistics Associate in Addison, Illinois

At The Cary Company, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service to our customers while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Logistics Specialist to join our team and support our logistics operations.

Job Summary: As a Logistics Specialist, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing our logistics functions. You will work closely with our carriers, customers, and internal departments to ensure that all logistics operations are executed efficiently and effectively. 

This is an on-site role reporting to our Addison, IL facility.

Compensation Range: $42,500-$55,000 Annually +  Benefits

(Compensation varies based on experience and education)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Logistics Functions: Role includes spot quoting, routing, and updating rates to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation solutions.

  • Assist Logistics Department: Support the logistics team in daily operations, contributing to the continuous improvement of our logistics processes.

  • Claims Handling & Rate Negotiation: Handle claims and negotiate rates with carriers to ensure optimal outcomes and maintain strong relationships.

  • Carrier & Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with carriers and customers, acting as a key point of contact for logistics-related matters.

  • Cross-Departmental Support: Collaborate with our Quality Assurance and Customer Service Departments to ensure service standards are met and exceeded.

  • Innovation & Process Development: Use creativity and innovation to develop new processes and procedures that enhance efficiency and service delivery.

  • Interface with Stakeholders: Communicate and coordinate with couriers, office personnel, and management to respond to requests and ensure that service commitments are met.

    Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.

  • Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities, desire to learn logistics/supply chain, and proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of packaging materials and industry-specific products is beneficial but not required.
