Job Title: Plumber

Job Description

Duties:

• Install new services on new houses.

• Locate and mark the position of pipes and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob.

• Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand tools and power tools.

• Cut and thread pipes, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine.

• Install plumbing finishing and equipment as per plans.

• Study building plans and working drawings to determine work required and sequence of installations.

• Inspect structures to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from the installation of pipes.

• Calculate material take-off.

• Order materials as needed.

• Solder 2 1/2" + pipes.

Hard Skills

  • 5+ years of plumbing commercial and/or residential experience/Journeyman required

  • 3+ years of plumbing commercial and/or residential experience required

  • CSLB license preferred but not required

  • Licenses for plumbing, mechanical, and gas an asset

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, and specifications (structural, architectural, civil, plumbing, and cut sheets)

  • Organized and maintain a clean work site

  • Work with a vast range of materials and proper installation of PVC DWV sch 40, CPVC sch 40 & 80, PEX, Uponor

  • Install carriers for WC, EWC, Lav, and urinals

  • Install hangers and supports for drains

  • Install water heaters, boilers, and set all types of fixtures for the finish

  • Working knowledge of installing electrical systems in a new construction setting

  • Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation

Pay

$30-$36

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Malibu, California.

Work Environment

New construction sites, residential and commercial buildings
