Honeywell Procurement Buyer II in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

As a Procurement Buyer II here at Honeywell, you will play a key role in our organization's procurement and purchasing activities.

The Procurement Buyer II will be responsible for all aspects related to the purchase of Direct and Indirect Capital purchases. You will be proficient with electronic purchasing systems, negotiating with suppliers, and analyzing total costs and will protect the Company's interests by reviewing and utilizing appropriate contract terms and conditions and contract templates. Negotiate directly with suppliers; complete in-depth price analyses, develop formal negotiation plans; and resolve exceptions to terms and conditions. The Buyer thoroughly understands and adheres to Honeywell sourcing policies/procedures and Code of Conduct. Effectively interacts with multiple departments at all levels of internal and external organizations and professionally resolves problems in a fair and ethical manner.

You will report directly to our Director of Strategic Sourcing, and you will work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location.

In this role, you will impact the company by optimizing procurement practices, enhancing profitability, and securing a reliable and agile supply chain.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs all procurement activities

  • Administers purchase orders

  • Purchase order placement

  • Support internal customer requirements

  • Ensure equitable opportunity for qualified suppliers

  • eSource (RFx and eAuction events)

  • Analyze competitive bids and formulate purchase recommendation

  • Compare/evaluate procurement cost

  • Control costs and obtain savings by using target pricing, reverse auctions, negotiations, and market tests.

  • Conduct Price/Cost Analysis

  • Consult with Commodity Leaders to identify cost savings projects/opportunities

  • Meet or exceed established goals and objectives

  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by management

Travel, up to 10%, may be expected.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

MUST HAVE

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 3+ years of procurement experience in goods and services buying

  • Ability to read, write and speak English

  • Direct and/or Indirect purchasing experience

  • Direct negotiation experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Strong communication skills and a team player

  • Good organizational - ability to prioritize and do problem solving
