SMX is seeking a Network Engineer to support USINDOPACOM J6 portfolio of programs. This position is onsite Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, HI, SMX Kapolei, HI with the ability to work hybrid/remote. You also must be willing to travel 10% of the time.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Identify and develop system requirements (captured in the form of Agile Backlog), to enable product success across a broad array of efforts. This includes support on-prem hosted third-party applications and information domains, as well in cloud-based deployments of system configuration baselines.
Provide support and recommendations to engineering scrums, specifically in network solutioning, configuration and management
Provide and implement security recommendations on networking devices across a wide spectrum of OSI layers, and potential capability providers
Provide root cause analysis activities in the event of system outages.
Utilize network assessment tools (such as automation scripts, network scanners, etc.) to provide baseline inventory, asset discovery, security adjudication, vulnerability analysis, etc. on systems under development and pre-production.

Identify and communicate blocks to development and integration of network devices, security upgrades, etc.
Required Skills & Experience
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
BS/BA in relevant technical discipline
Associate’s degree and additional experience in relevant field may be substituted for a BS/BA.
Minimum of 10 years of operational IT customer support in network administration and/or engineering
Minimum of 5 years of experience with Cisco products
Experience in the deployment and configuration of Cisco network devices
Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
Experience with COMSEC mechanisms
Ability to complete tasks within required timeframes with no supervision.
Proficient at use of Microsoft Office 365 family of products.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer focused.
Capacity to learn new systems rapidly and adapt quickly to change
Desired Skills & Experience
10-15 years as a Systems Engineer and/or technical experience in Information Technology (IT).
Experience with USINDOPACOM.
Ability and willingness to lead less experienced technicians if required
Intra-agency or joint command experience.
Networking relevant certifications (such as CCNA/CCNP)
Cloud related certificates (AWS/Azure preferred)
IAT Level III/IAM Level II certification (CASP, CISSP).

The proposed salary for this position is:
$125,000—$185,000 USD
