INDIAN EYES LLC 1048 Principal Quality Assurance / Control Engineer in Aiken, South Carolina

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define scope of technical and quality engineering programs and develop effective, quality solutions to challenges which involve unique or controversial problems.
  • Creatively meet all company and industry requirements and apply site systems to achieve quality, cost-effective, and timely results.
  • Give quality guidance to less senior professionals on related tasks.
  • Apply technical and quality engineering experience in field of specialization to resolve complex problems.
  • Incorporate advanced technical and quality engineering practices and a variety of complex features such as: complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes, and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
  • Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area of technical and quality engineering specialization.
  • Provide direction and position responsibility both inside and outside department lines on programs seeking new approaches to problems and new application of existing engineering and quality assurance principles; evaluate the results of programs through surveillances, monitoring, assessments, and reviews; prepare reports and recommendations based on these evaluations; and, identify and recommend improvements where established technology, methodology, and procedures are inadequate for solution.
  • Keep informed of the advancement of technology and requirements as applied within one's area of specialization and expertise.
  • Develop QA programs and procedures and ensure compliance and effective execution of technical and quality assurance requirements within the assigned facility or program area.
  • Be accountable for compliance with the approved schedules and that personnel under one's technical guidance are appropriately trained and effectively utilized.
  • Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving technical and quality engineering tasks identified by management.
  • Develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work completed to ensure that technical and quality requirements are met.
  • Serve on a Facility Review Board, providing QA expertise in support of facility start-up and/or operation.
  • Support facility/project needs within the assigned area by conducting procurement, procedure, and work package reviews.
  • Communicate objectives and results to customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Prepare reports, professional papers, and articles for internal publication; Occasionally prepare reports for external publication.
  • Communicate with DOE-SR personnel regarding QA Program and corrective action status.
  • Enhance expertise in field through leadership in local technical societies.
  • May also participate in national technical societies, advanced studies, or national consensus standards committees.
  • Demonstrate commitment to TQ concepts by active participation and successful implementation of Div./ Dept. TQ initiatives.
  • Serve as a QA expert in evaluating the QA Programs of major program participants, including subcontractors and suppliers, in order to recommend corrective actions, redirect efforts, and provide judgment regarding a project or facility's potential for success.
  • Present findings to program or facility management and Site QA.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

     

Required Qualifications/ Skills / Experience:

Candidate must meet at least one of the following Requirements:

BS degree in technical discipline with 8-10 years of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Engineering experience in the fields of Operations, Maintenance, Construction
