Job Overview

  • Role: CAD Technician - Drafter
  • Length: 1+ year contract
  • Location: Akron - must be local
  • Work Arrangement: Full-time in the office, with 30 days of remote work allowed

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and Design:

    • Prepare new drawings and revise existing ones using AutoCAD.
    • Ensure adherence to company and client drafting standards and ANSI drafting practices.
    • Work on substation projects, focusing on wiring and controls.
    • Perform back-checking to minimize comments from engineers.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work alongside Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers.
    • Engage in tasks utilizing various drafting and design software.
    • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Associate's degree in a CAD-related program or specialized CAD certification.
  • Experience:

    • At least 2 years of relevant drafting experience.
  • Skills:

    • Proficient in AutoCAD and basic knowledge of Vault (document control management software).
    • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow technical knowledge.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
