Project Engineer (Job Code PEWEB)

Support production with continuous improvement efforts (Kaizen), capital project management, and cost reduction activities. Develop CNC programs for Okuma, Mazatrol, and Fanuc controls in support of turning, milling, drilling and grinding processes. Implement bottleneck cycle time reduction in manufacturing cells. Work with tooling vendors to develop new tools and improve defined manufacturing processes. Develop methods, tooling and techniques to reduce the time and effort involved in set up and operation of equipment. Implement design/process changes for optimized safety, quality, delivery and cost. Update and maintain equipment and tooling drawings for production equipment, including manufacturing cell layouts. Develop engineering solutions for repetitive equipment/process failures. Manage capital projects including equipment specification, coordination of equipment run offs, installation of equipment. Manage outside contractors involved in process improvement and equipment installation. Review, recommend and coordinate TPM, PM proactive maintenance and predictive maintenance programs to prevent equipment failures and maximize machine uptime. Lead Kaizen activities. Assist in identification of departmental training requirements and provide training for improvement of skill levels. Achieve financial objectives by assisting in the preparation of budget, scheduling, expenditures, managing project budgets and initiating corrective actions.

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or foreign educational equivalent. Two years of experience in the position offered, or in a similar position, such as Process Manufacturing Engineer. Experience must include reducing cycle times, develop and launch new CV Joint components machined, and programming CNC lathes.
