This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. As an Indirect Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for the purchasing and supply management activities for indirect categories and subcategories. You will work closely with key stakeholders in both the Abbott Corporate and Diabetes Care Divisional organizations. This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

What You’ll Do:

• Comfortable leading both directly and indirectly, you will support in the creation of the vision and strategy with a multi-year roadmap to establish the indirect function in ADC, ensuring implementation and leverage of best practices and compliance across all purchasing areas.

• Continuously nurturing stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner, you will help identify critical business requirements and provide sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations.

• You will analyze and coordinate projects to increase supply resilience for indirect costs (i.e. facilities, quality, ops, R&D etc), drive reduced total cost of ownership by optimizing Tier 2 and Tier 3 supply chains, leverage extensive market and supplier knowledge to drive lower TCO, and represent Abbott strategically in the industry and community.

• You will continually look for opportunities for cost reductions, cost avoidance and provision of overall value improvements, whilst measuring and tracking team performance.

• You will be a self-starter/results focused individual who brings ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and other functional teams, and excellent interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence/negotiation and networking skills.

• You will be adept at managing change, with experience gained in a large sized organization, and comfortable managing teams at the strategic level.

Experience You'll Bring

Required

• Bachelors Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

• Masters Degree MBA preferred

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

• 5-8 years of track record within procurement and supply chain management.

• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar certification desirable. Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification desirable.

• 5-8 years of Procurement and /or deep Category experience.

• Some functional experience. Strong project management skills.

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

• Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills international experience.

• Some knowledge of markets by regions

• Some experience with Supplier management.

• Ability to develop actionable implementation plans.

• Relevant business process knowledge, as related to Procurement and Category Management.

• Deep knowledge of category technologies and products.

• Strong negotiating skills

• Experience leading teams.

The base pay for this position is $125,700.00 – $251,500.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
