Description

We are currently seeking a highly organized, dependable and detail-oriented Medical Scheduler for a healthcare clinic local to Oakland. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling appointments for patients, updating patient records, and managing patient flow through the medical office. This role plays a vital part in managing the smooth operation of our medical facility, ensuring that every patient receives high-quality, timely care.

Responsibilities:

· Maintain our patient's appointment schedule, making adjustments as necessary for emergency appointments or cancellations.

· Follow up closely on appointments with patients and remind them in case of upcoming appointments.

· Input the necessary patient data into our database and keep patient accounts up-to-date.

· Liaise with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and prompt services.

· Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries about appointments, procedures, and other scheduling-related concerns.

· Assign patients to appropriate medical staffs based on their medical needs and practitioner availability.

· Handle confidential patient information in accordance with healthcare laws and regulations.

Requirements

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Proven experience as a medical scheduler or a similar position in a medical setting.

· Knowledge of medical terminology, medical office procedures and diagnosis codes.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Proficiency in MS office and medical software programs.

· Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

· Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.

· Exceptional customer service skills.

· Outstanding ability to maintain accurate patient records.
