JOB TITLE: Equity & Human Resources Coordinator

MUSTS: May be required to pass background check and/or drug testing. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have a high school diploma, and have availability to work a flexible schedules which will include some evenings and some Saturdays. Have community organizing experience, understanding of equitable leadership strategies, ability to inspire others, strong communication skills, well organized, and have a passion for the mission to foster an equitable local food system. Will generally work in an office setting. May travel to different venues.

SKILLS: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required. Prefer college degree and/or 3 years of experience.

DUTIES: Work with representatives from San Luis Valley employers, schedule professionally led trainings and facilitate dialogue among representatives regarding equitable access to goods and services. The Equity Coordinator will also be supporting Local Foods, Local Places, 2023-2025 Community Food and Agriculture Action Planning Project(CFAAP). Internally, the Equity Coordinator will be supporting the human resources department, one of the goals being to ensure that HR practices and policies are fair, just, and equitable. The Equity Coordinator will also facilitate meetings and coordinate trainings for the organization's Equity Action Team(EAT), using the equity statement as a guide for the team's work. Job Responsibilities: 1)Work with the Community Food & Agriculture Assessment and Action Planning Project Coordinator, Project Stewards, community partners, residents, and staff to conduct an equitable community food & agriculture action plan in the six counties of the San Luis Valley. 2) The Equity Coordinator will be responsible for organizing internal equity trainings facilitated by experts, and professionally led workshops with local employers. Efforts will be focused on large employers and institutions, with along-term goal of enhancing practices and policies to promote equity among employees and community members. 3)Support general functions of company human resources department. Facilitate human resources POD meetings and provide support to the pod structure in general. Incorporate fair, just, equitable standards into employee policy, practice, recruitment, evaluation, and retention - 30% of time 4)Build upon existing momentum. Conduct research and engage in readings to understand what has been done within the organization, and with SLV partner organizations and what exists here. 5) Incorporate translation and interpretation with the Language Justice Cooperative to be inclusive to all languages. 6) Facilitate Equity Action Team(EAT) meetings. Coordinate guest speakers building upon what has been done. 7)Represent the organization in the Racial Equity Community of Learning & Practice(COLP)for Food Policy Councils put on by the Johns Hopkins' Center for a Liveable Future. 8)Identify people/organizations to bring to the table, and document & uplift community voices 9)Have an active presence at monthly staff meetings 10)Search and apply for funding opportunities to support local equity projects 11)Help with the Annual Harvest Festival "LOCAL"

WAGES: $25.00 per hour. Paid twice monthly.

BENEFITS: Paid time off, paid holiday, health and dental insurance. Waiting period will be discussed with the employer.

JOB TO START: Immediately, as soon as a qualified applicant is hired.

DURATION: This is a permanent position.

SHIFT: This approximately 40 or more hours per week. Will generally work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with some evening and Saturday work. This will be discussed with the employer.
