  • Prepares detailed plans for each fiscal year based on the guidance received from the Director of Contracts.

  • Provides for capital equipment additions and for the replacement for out modeled, worn out, or unsafe equipment.

  • Maintains performance standards required by the contract and keeps the Project Manager and Director of Contracts informed of significant facts concerning his/her department.

  • Assures that disabled employees/clients are assigned to jobs adequate to their respected skills, abilities, and limitations in conformance with written program prepared by the Rehabilitation Services staff.

  • Develops and installs methods to meet work load requirements.

  • Responsible for ensuring all equipment is maintained, directly and/or indirectly.

  • Ensures that all areas are clean, neat and orderly.

  • Ensures that all safety practices are observed and that each person is aware of responsibility for the prevention of accidents and fires.

  • Maintains adequate stock to meet the needs of the contract specification.

  • Maintains records of operating supplies and equipment for the contract, follows proper procedures to secure replacement and additional assistance as needed.

  • Ensures that all contract operations are in full compliance, at all times, within all facets of the contract.

  • Provides documentation and/or evidence of problems created which could negatively impact the quality and/or quantity of work provided.

  • Maintains a system of quality control which is approved by the Project Manager.

  • Responsible for approving all payroll information on a timely basis and is responsible for ensuring that the payroll checks are distributed in the absence of the Project Manager.

  • Responsible for providing assistance in obtaining company identification upon termination of any team member. Responsible for ensuring that all contract team members have on their person, in full view, required identification at all times.

  • Responsible for handling all accidents in a timely manner, including documentation.

  • Acts as an advisor regarding the contract operations. Keeps the Director of Contracts and Project Manager informed of any significant changes.

  • Expected to model impeccable work ethics to both internal and external customers.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Ability

The Assistant Project Manager must possess competence in the following areas in order to be successful within the role:

  • Working operational knowledge of all aspects of the contract.

  • Familiar with custodial and grounds equipment.

  • Ability to work with people with disabilities and be understanding.

  • Ability to make reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities within supervised positions.

  • Ability to become certified in Pest Control Applications, in the state of Georgia, via the Department of Agriculture

  • Ability to professionally develop team members.

  • Ability to model impeccable work ethics, initiative, and time management skills.

  • High level of enthusiasm, motivation, persistence and a positive attitude

  • Possess and display excellent analytical, critical thinking, organizational, verbal and written communication skills with a diverse audience.

  • Strong mathematical skills.

  • Ability to use a computer.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Capacity to display supportive and professional conduct in a high pressure, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

  • Ability to demonstrate patience, maturity, and leadership skills

  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, a criminal history background check and a motor vehicle report.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will plan, assign or supervise the work of others. In the absence of the Project Manager he/she will have complete authority to ensure that operations are in compliance within the contract requirements

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and may be used in lieu of experience.

  • Three to five years’ experience is preferred.

  • Military or civil service background preferred but not mandatory.

  • Prior leadership/supervisory experience is required. Two to four years of experience preferred.

  • Experience with general industrial work to include experience in an administrative capacity involving production control, planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

  • Experience involving training and supervising people with disabilities is desirable.
