Albany Medical Center Accounting Supervisor in Albany, New York

Salary Range: $65,057.00 - $107,343.00

This position will report to the Director, but will also work with the Assistant Director, when necessary. Will provide high level financial and reimbursement analysis to be utilized for the daily/monthly reporting of revenue cycle detail. Will also supervise and assist the administrative support team with the day-to-day function of the Patient Receivable Control unit.

Qualifications

  • BS or BBA in Accounting/Finance.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Healthcare Finance or a combination of education and experience in a related field.

  • Ability to provide guidance and supervision to administrative staff.

  • Ability to operate in a fast paced environment. Must be organized and capable of meeting daily/monthly deadlines.

  • Microsoft Office skills are required.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Supervise administrative support team. Prioritize workflow and provide guidance to the administrative support staff to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently.

  • Control journal entry process associated with patient cash flow and AR reimbursement. Responsible for the final month end reconciliation of patient cash to general ledger.

  • Control the process for interim payment schedules. Monitor the cash distributions for interim payments, accommodation transfers, and other program transfers, as required.

  • Perform duties related to daily/monthly revenue cycle. Includes, but not limited to, gross/net revenue reporting, reserve modeling reporting, bad debt/charity care reporting, and analysis of all data.

  • Assist with year-end audit requirements. e.g., AR, reimbursement, and gross charge sampling.

  • Guide and assist Administrative Support Associates with the daily cash processing, responsible for the cash file maintenance, along with misc. receivable control tasks.

  • Perform charge/reimbursement detail testing on patient account output from the billing system.

  • Perform other duties as required by Director/Assistant Director, Patient Receivable Control.
