Job Description:

Responsibilities
The Hourly Program Specialist I will work in project teams with Office of Public Health subject matter experts and Office of Science and Technology staff supporting efforts to modernize public health data systems to support COVID data reporting and analytics. The incumbent will assist with needs assessment, planning and implementation of new public health data reporting and surveillance systems for COVID data reporting and analytics. The incumbent will also be responsible for informatics and technology sections of applicable project and grant report to internal and external stakeholder as well as federal funding agencies.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and experience planning and implementing data analytics projects.


Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience articulating goals, planning and implementing processes to achieve those goals, recognizing and assessing technical and organizational challenges, and meeting deadlines. Demonstrated experience communicating and negotiating across business areas and with external public health partners.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded, hourly position expected to last through 7/31/2026. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 10% of the time, will be required.


This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.


HRI participates in the E-Verify Program.

This position may require occasional work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays.
