Trinity Health Laundry and Linen Supervisor - St. Peter's Hospital - Full Time - Days in Albany, New York

Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the proper handling, storage, transport and delivery of linen and scrubs. As an active participant in cost containment action plans along with SPHP Linen Manager. They will train linen workers in proper handling techniques and storage of linen. Record all data required to track linen usage, keep accurate tallies from deliveries and exchange cart. We are looking for the right candidate to join our team! Responsibilities:

  • Emphasizes and adheres to the policy and procedures of the linen department for SPHP.

  • Coordinates and supervises all personnel in the processing of linen Trains, orients, maintains records, schedules of Linen staff.

  • Manages the procurement of all linen department materials and the ability to order these supplies through PeopleSoft

  • Maintains production and employee records, annual updates, staff health assessments

  • Maintains a high standards of clean, fresh and safe linen in accordance with department & infection control policies and procedures Interviews, hires, disciplines and terminates with Manager's approval in accordance of SPHP policies

  • Approves time sheets bi weekly (kronos) Sync Linen Handhelds, check in daily deliveries, places daily orders for linen

  • Monitor scrub machines daily for when needed to be refilled, machine out, inputting staff that need access, giving additional credits, taking staff out, adjust slots in machines

  • Monitors departmental budget/expenses (to control or justify variances), inventories supplies and maintain equipment of the department

  • Utilizes best practices, par level programs based on actual usage utilizing hand held terminal software

  • Expense out linen/scrubs monthly to nursing floors.

  • Ensures compliance with infection control policies and procedures Treats each patient, visitor and employee with compassion and courtesy.

Minimum Work Experience:

  • One year minimum of supervisory experience in Linen

  • Knowledge of healthcare linen operations preferred!

  • Ability to accuracy input data into the computer and linen handhelds

  • Knowledge of laundry operations

  • Computer skills required - Knowledge of Microsoft word, excel spreadsheets and People Soft (on line requisitioning system) a plus.

  • Possess ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal

  • Requires considerable daily walking, standing, lifting, pushing of exchange linen carts (appx 700 lbs.). Constant bending squatting to unload clean linen carts, soiled linen bags and emptying of scrub ex machines.

Pay Range: $18.50 - $24.66

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
