Duties Description The Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program (CLEP) is responsible for the oversight of clinical testing including low complexity, point-of-care testing performed under Limited-Service Laboratories (LSL). The LSL Unit in CLEP routinely processes approximately 5,000 applications per year. Tasks include but are not limited to preparing mailings; digitizing and archiving application documents; reviewing applications for completeness and accuracy; monitoring the shared mailbox, answering the phone and referring inquiries as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current New York State employee with permanent or contingent permanent, competitive status as an Office Assistant 1, Grade 6, OR New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent permanent, competitive, service in a title at or above Grade 4, and deemed eligible for transfer to Office Assistant 1, Grade 6, under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Public Candidates:Active list candidate on the New York State Department of Civil Service's Beginning Office Assistant eligible list #26-711 with a score of 100 or higher, OR qualified 55 b/c candidate. NYHELPS: There are no minimum education or experience requirements.Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate must be able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment, have strong organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a desire to contribute to a team-oriented workplace. The preferred candidate will also have experience using the following computer programs: Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook; and Adobe Pro.
