Senior Network Administrator
Starting Salary is $92,234 annually, Pursuant to the rules of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
JOB S UMMARY:
Unde r th e genera l directio n o f th e Manager of Systems Security and Networking , the Senior Network Security Administrator is responsible for effective design, implementation and maintenance of all of CSEA’s computer networks ensuring a reliable, safe and secure infrastructure to support all of CSEA’s data and business needs, while ensuring operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Manages all network security solutions in accordance with industry best practices.
Assists with installing, configuring, and maintaining critical network, phone and cloud infrastructure supporting CSEA's HQ, data center, and CSEA region office locations.
Assists in troubleshooting and resolving LAN, WAN, and wireless-related issues, optimize network throughput, and provide end-user support for all network-related devices, servers, phones, mobile devices and PCs.
Assists in installing, configuring, configuring, and administrating networking, SD-WAN, VPN, IP, DHCP, DNS management, and network security-related infrastructure, equipment, Firewalls and software necessary to support CSEA's critical business functions.
Administers Office 365 email system, diagnose issues, optimize performance, and manage rules and alerts.
Administers Office 365 Defender and Security
Racks, stacks, powers, and provides management connections for network-attached devices.
Monitors ticketing queue, responds to incidents in a timely manner, and documents solutions.
Assists with WiFi, Radio Signals, and wireless networking, 802.11 Wireless engineering and optimization.
Monitors and optimizes the performance of CSEA's network, SD-WAN, Security, and internet connections.
Creates and manages support tickets with 3rd party vendors in response to any type of network degradation or system issues.
Administers CSEA's Active Directory Infrastructure.
Assists with 802.1x, ADFS, Radius, and other authentication tools.
Arranges scheduled upgrades with CSEA departments and Region Offices.
Investigates and remedies faults in the network.
Updates network and security equipment to the latest firmware releases.
Utilizes network management best practices and tools to investigate and resolve network-related performance issues.
Utilizes CSEA's network monitoring tools to ensure all systems run optimally.
Assists with integrating technologies from outside vendors in various networking environments and optimize security.
Installs, configures, and troubleshoots IT infrastructure at CSEA's region and satellite offices.
Leads network engineers on designing a VLAN or other network architecture.
Researches and implements new policy and tools for application in Cloud environments.
Works on dashboard that shows the health of the network as it pertains to all CSEA office locations.
Works with the Manager of Systems Security and Networking to manage vendors and hold them responsible to meet SLAs.
Assists in disaster recovery efforts, testing, and documentation.
Administers telephone communications system (IP and analog), assigning extensions, resetting voicemails, establishing new users and other telecom tasks and duties.
Develops documentation and user guides for enhancements.
Remains current on network trends and developing technology.
Collaborates with other technical teams to optimize data storage, integration, and retrieval processes.
Provide support and guidance to Network Administrator, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Assists Manager of Systems Security and Networking to build security policy for the organization.
May be assigned other related du t ies as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- (a) An Associate’s degree from a recogniz e d institutio n wit h speci a lizatio n i n Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
(b) Six years of satisfactory, progress i ve e x perience in network administration in a b u siness environment incorporating switch, router and firewall configuration, network monitoring, and experience utilizing network management tools t o that are acceptable to th e man a gement o f th e Information Technology Dep a rtment. Knowledge of network topology, understanding of LANS, VPN, VPC, Wi-Fi, etc is required.
OR
- (a) Eight years of satisfactory, progress i ve e x perience in network administration in a b u siness environment incorporating switch, router and firewall configuration, network monitoring, and experience utilizing network management tools t o that are acceptable to th e man a gement o f th e Information Technology Dep a rtment. Knowledge of network topology, understanding of LANS, VPN, VPC, Wi-Fi, etc is required.
OR
3 (a) A satisfactory combination of the foregoing education and experience.
Knowledge of wireless survey and analysis tools is preferred. Travel throughout New York State is expected.
