Sr. Behavior Specialist

This will be a year round position, not on the school calendar.

Position Summary

This position will have a lead role in providing behavioral intervention and consultation in the middle school setting. This team member will join an agency clinician at the school while also being an integral part of the school community supporting students from an individualized and strength-based perspective.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Employees are expected to be awake and alert while working.

  • Lead efforts in creating, teaching and monitoring behavioral intervention plans in the school.

  • Support students through activities such as check-in/check-out, daily social skills lunch groups and the weekly food backpack program.

  • Assist in student mediation, crisis intervention and consultation to the school, students and families.

  • Participate in PBIS committee meetings and student support team meetings regularly.

  • Utilize regular supervision, staff meetings and agency trainings for knowledge and support.

  • Ability to travel required.

    Education and/or Experience

    Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.

    Preferred seven to ten years of experience.

    Requires experience with behavioral planning with children 5 to 19 years old.

    Prefer experience with classroom observations and written reports.

    Prefer experience with Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports (PBIS or equivalent).

    Requires ability to hold skills groups.
