Job Description:

Summary:

Reporting to the global SVP/President of the Orthodontic business unit of Envista, the VP, Global Manufacturing and Operations, Orthodontics, will lead all aspects of Manufacturing, and Operations across our global orthodontic business unit. This role will manage a large global manufacturing team, currently located in 6 sites across 4 countries. This role will help support the continued growth of the Ormco wire and bracket and Spark clear aligner business unit of Envista. The successful candidate will lead from the factory floor with a focus on lean operations and continuous improvement.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop global operations strategy, and organization design for deployment of orthodontic strategic initiatives.

  • Lead global operations strategy and execution to meet customer demand within required lead times (On Time Delivery) and with exceptional product quality.

  • Develop and lead a growing global manufacturing and operations team that is set up to win – Order Entry, manufacturing, materials/planning, quality control, supply chain and logistics, shipping/receiving, distribution, and facilities management.

  • Develop a high impact, strong and diverse organization that will scale and thrive as the business grows. Effectively recruit, manage, train, engage and develop a team of capable individuals who will not only deliver, but exceed commitments.

  • Drive significant improvements in manufacturing and machining costs and processes including the adoption and integration of new technology and automation methods.

  • Manage action plans (daily, weekly, monthly) for implementation, sustainment, and counter measures of operations KPIs and metrics.

  • Champion kaizen and continuous improvement activities for operations sites.

  • Utilize Lean Concepts such as: Standard Work, 5S, Kanban, SMED, DMP, VRK and other tools to create and maintain a mindset of continuous improvement.

  • Understand and support the company's manufacturing and operations policies and procedures to ensure safety and compliance.

Job Requirements:

Education and Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading manufacturing and operations organizations globally

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with highly-automated manufacturing cells/equipment.

  • Experience working in a lean/kaizen culture, with a track record of utilizing these methodologies as a competitive advantage

  • Proven track record building, leading, motivating and developing teams, specifically during a period of organizational growth.

  • Ability to drive and/or participate in strategy development (long-term, high-level objectives) as well as translate these into tactical execution (short-term, detailed execution plans).

  • High ethical standards and attention to reputational and compliance risks.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in real time and exercise judgment in high-paced, high-stakes environment.

  • Sophisticated understanding of creating and measuring performance metrics and KPIs.

  • Experience building and driving large manufacturing ramp.

  • Experience in healthcare/med device or other highly regulated environment.

  • Proven track record in hiring and managing high performers.

Preferred Experience

  • MBA

  • 2-3 years of multi-site operations leadership

  • Experience with 3D printing technologies at scale

  • Experience in automated manufacturing processes (automation of machinery and software)

  • Certifications in Lean/Continuous Improvement principles

  • 5-7 years leading a procurement organization with demonstrated results in achieving material cost productivity improvements

  • Spanish or Chinese fluency

Travel

  • Approximately 60% travel, with international travel required.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
