Actalent Controls Engineer in Albany, Oregon

Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description

As a Controls Engineer, you will be at the forefront of troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs across our industrial control equipment. Your role includes supporting operators and techs in editing PLCs, programmable automation controllers, and AC drives. You will ensure the robust operation of SCADA systems used for recipe management and data reporting, and maintain the integrity of these systems against environmental factors. Your expertise will be crucial in leading efforts to troubleshoot, repair, or replace controls and related equipment for our manufacturing machinery and facilities systems. Daily tasks might involve communication with vendors and contractors to ensure proper installation, as well as designing and developing machine control systems to meet customer specifications. You will also create system documentation, write control software, and effectively communicate project statuses to various stakeholders.

Hard Skills

  • PLC Programming (including Allen Bradley and Siemens)

  • Reading prints and schematics

  • Commissioning and installation

  • Documenting system setup and programming

  • Basic understanding of SCADA systems

  • AutoCAD

  • VFD experience

  • DeltaV knowledge

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Albany, Oregon.

Work Environment

You will be working in a hands-on manufacturing environment, where engaging directly with machinery and systems is part of the daily routine.
