Bridget Killen with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Albany, Oregon. This position is in the public sector and offers a generous benefits package! This role lies at the core of our financial operations, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), grant and fund accounting, and maintaining accurate accounting controls. This opportunity offers a generous benefits package along with being PERS eligible!! The successful candidate will also take a lead role in the annual audit and will prepare the financial statements!

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service and support to staff and agency partners

• Ensure agency compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Lead the annual audit process

• Prepare financial statements

• Interpret policy and implement procedures within the accounting function

• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial report projects

• Provide technical and analytical support to staff and directors

• Ensure maintenance of accounting controls and adequate audit trails for funds

• Process and reconcile account transactions in a timely manner

• Use software tools such as NetSuite, and Microsoft Excel to perform accounting tasks and generate reports.

Requirements

• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Proven experience in grant and fund accounting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is essential

• Knowledge and experience in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations is necessary

• Familiarity with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

•Experience preparing financial statements

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential

• Must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Must be authorized to work in the country where the job is located.
