What Your Job Will Be Like:

Are you interested in a creative and fast-paced environment collaborating with multiple teams? Join us as an Information Systems Engineering Project Manager and start building the future today!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle and confer with project staff to outline a work plan

  • Act as a coach to early career project managers, executives and others who need assistance and advice regarding project management

  • Facilitate project planning meetings or scrum activities (i.e., daily standups, retrospectives, sprint planning and sprint reviews)

  • Manage project risks and determine solutions to keep projects on course

  • Manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Present project status, risks, and issues to management

  • Coordinate across IT departments to ensure project tasks/achievements are completed

  • Maintain project timeline and tasks through traditional project management tools (e.g., MS Project and SNL’s Project Management Tools) and Agile tools (e.g., ADOS)

  • Build partnerships to ensure successful project delivery by ensuring artifacts are provided for the Solutions Delivery Lifecycle process

  • Manage project cost, schedule, and scope to ensure successful delivery to Training & Development customers

    The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.

Salary Range:

$95,400 - $185,700

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field plus 10 years of experience

  • Experience with deploying Learning Management Systems (LMS)

  • Experience leading IT projects through phases such as planning, design, deployment, and transition to operations of highly complex IT projects

  • Experience with interpreting customer’s requirements and prioritizing deliverables

  • Active DOE Q clearance, or equivalent is required to start

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Master’s in training and Learning Technologies or Organizational Information & Learning Sciences (OLIS)

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) and/or Scrum Master Certifications

  • Experience with Azure DevOps for work planning and execution and developing

  • work/staffing plans for iterations or phases and & budget forecasting for project labor

  • Experience using Agile Scrum with Waterfall based executive reporting

  • Experience with Sandia’s Solution Delivery Lifecycle (SDL)

  • Experience leading departmental strategic, tactical planning, and execution

  • Experience performing data analytics: identifying relevant datasets needed for general reporting, data mapping, and tend analysis

  • Experience developing workflows and processes, including roles involved in the processes, their sequencing, and outputs of the processes

  • Experience facilitating risk analysis and mitigation planning

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The Medical, Learning, and Testing IT department (9744) provides agile, integrated, software solutions that simplify Sandia’s everyday tasks by providing integrated, modern enterprise applications and IT solutions for Sandia on behalf of the National Security Mission. The corporate applications and technology we deliver includes the enterprise Learning Management System (LMS), a full medical portfolio of IT products, and other ancillary software systems. We also provide information assurance support to projects across other groups by interpreting cyber security requirements. In addition, we provide security scanning and load testing for applications. Strengths include software system architecture, requirements engineering, software design, deployment, testing, and data integration to support our vision and deliver accurate, timely and auditable data while collaborating with business partners to integrate IT into their business strategy.
