Objectives of this role
Maintain effective communication with managers, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the company.
Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency and quality.
Assist the quality manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management protocols and ensuring operational team compliance.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies to maintain a safe responsible manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
Directly oversee production manager (1 FTE) and lead and mentor the production team (35 FTE) to enhance productivity and performance.
Manage data collection for the purpose of calculating actual productivity and cost per unit, performing additional research and making strategic decisions when unexpected variances occur.
Monitor and improve manufacturing metrics such as yield, cycle time, and quality standards.
Directly oversee the materials manager (1 FTE) to optimize inventory levels, maintain and/or grow supplier relationships, mitigate supply chain risks and reduce waste.
Directly oversee machine maintenance tech (1 FTE), track equipment requirements, researching new equipment as needed.
Directly oversee shipping and receiving team (1.5 FTE) to ensure timely and accurate deliveries to customers, timely and accurate receipt of raw materials, and ideal warehouse organization.
Occasionally support the sales team with forecasting start and end dates of production runs.
Required skills and qualifications
Two or more years of proven success in an operations management role
Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and an aptitude for learning new software
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to lead a diverse team
Preferred skills and qualifications
Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
Ability to learn quickly
Working knowledge of manufacturing foundations (Lean, Flow, Theory of Constraints, 6 Sigma)
Willingness to ask for help, guidance or other resources when needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
