What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Administrative Support professional to join our Security Connection Team. Join our dynamic team to develop creative solutions to unique national security challenges!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Answer phone calls, emails, and/or instant messages to provide information regarding Safeguards & Security program requirements, policies, and resources to members of the workforce at all SNL sites.

  • Maintain knowledge of security policies/procedures from muiltple security program areas.

  • Employ in-depth interview techniques to ascertain customer's needs to provide timely and accurate answers.

  • Accurately disseminate security-related information to members of the workforce though effective verbal and/or written communications.

  • Review and update program documents and related security knowledge base articles / web-pages.

  • Support the SNL Security Incident Management Program (SIMP) to triage inbound calls during operational hours.

  • Interact with subject matter experts from various SNL Safeguards & Security Programs to discuss policy questions on behalf of the SNL members of the workforce.

  • Support the Security Awareness program by assisting with briefings, and other informational activities communicating Safeguards & Security related requirements.

    Due to the nature of the work, this candidate must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:

$46,000 - $84,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • High school diploma plus three (3) or more years of directly related experience.

  • Administrative support experience.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Experience providing excellent customer service with a strong customer focus.

  • Experience working with government related requirements and policies.

  • Experience with providing call center and help desk support.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other team members, but also independently (with minimal supervision), in a fast past paced, dynamic environment while meeting deadlines/deliverables.

  • Excellent computer skills to include experience with; MS Office, SharePoint and WordPress.

  • Knowledge and experience in one or more major security area including information security, physical security, personnel security, or cyber security.

  • Familiarity with DOE directives, especially S&S-related requirements and with Corporate Systems (SNL Lab Policies, TEDs, PO Queries).

  • Broad understanding of Sandia programs, policies, organizations, procedures, and administrative systems.

  • Experience evaluating data and developing metrics to help monitor trends, and areas to improve.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, and achieve results.

The Security Connection Team serves as one of the primary points of contact for the Safeguards & Security Center at Sandia National Laboratories. This team contributes to mission sucess by serving as a security resource who partners and collaborates with our diverse community. Posting Duration:

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Position Information:

This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
