Director of Continuous Improvement and Quality (Alexander City, AL)

Lead the Continuous Improvement team. Interface with customers to resolve issues. Lead the quality team. Implement processes and standards to improve our quality system. Measure overall quality performance and provide feedback to the organization. Design, integrate, or improve cabinetry manufacturing systems and related processes. Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve manufacturing processes to reduce costs, using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods and quality control. Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Design layout of equipment or workspaces to achieve maximum efficiency. Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.

Supervise 4 people.

Job Requirements: Masters or Bachelors degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or related. Foreign equivalents accepted.

3 years experience (or 5 years with Bachelors degree) in manufacturing, industrial or quality control engineering.

Must include some experience with: - AutoCAD for manufacturing layouts - Value Stream Mapping - Poke Yoke - Control charts - Lean Six Sigma - Planning workflow, space requirement, reduced inventory, and continuous flow in a cell layout - Time-motion studies to implement single piece flow - Data analysis for Kanban and Cut to order inventory levels - Just in Time manufacturing in a cell layout - Use Minitab to perform statistical analysis and capability studies

Also requires Lean Six Sigma Certification (ASQ or IASSC).
