Work closely with the senior quality control asphalt lab technician to learn about the different specification for roads being created. Responsibilities: Collects samples of crushed stone, aggregate, sand and gravel from stockpiles or mines and tests for conformance to specifications. Selects road construction samples at specified stages and runs tests. Records results of samples using equipment such as ovens and molds to perform calculations to measure air voids, gradations and densities. Records test data applying quality control procedures. Evaluates data and makes adjustments to materials. Performs other tasks as needed. Complies with Company Safety Program.
