Aston Carter Senior Accountant in Alexandria, Virginia
Description:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prepare and maintain journal entries and supporting documentation.
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis, investigating discrepancies and communicating issue timely.
Assist with monthly accounting close and consolidation process.
Support the external financial reporting process, including preparation and update of reports and supporting schedules.
Assist in the preparation and compilation of ad-hoc management reporting and transactional research
Compile and coordinate supporting documentation for information requests from external and internal auditors
Work effectively with Corporate and Operating Segment teams
Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field with at least 4 years of experience in such field
Understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP
Excellent use of Microsoft Office Excel and Word
Analytical reporting and review skills
Demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independent and as part of a team
