VCA Mission Animal Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Kennel Assistant to join our AAHA-accredited, 3-doctor practice in Alhambra, California. The successful candidate will share our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our loyal clientele and the highest quality care to their boarded and hospitalized pets. Compensation ranges from $16.25/hr to $17.00/hr and is dependent on experience level.

Qualifications:

• Work independently and follow written and verbal instructions

• Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written directions

• Maintain good attendance record

• Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Lift 40 pounds independently

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Handle and restrain animals appropriately, ensuring patients and associates are safe

• Cleaning cages.

• Feeding, Medicating and exercising dogs and cats

• Inventory unpacking and stocking

• Doing laundry

• Cleaning and maintaining hospital premises.

• Assisting Doctors and Technicians when necessary.

Client Relations:

• Agree to incorporate the principles of the VCA Mission Statement, Three Steps of Service and VCA Standards of Client Service in their daily job performance.

• Demonstrate excellent relations and communication skills with clients and their pets within the hospital.

This is a Part Time Position which includes weekends and some holidays.
