Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Specialist in Allentown, Pennsylvania. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our financial department by overseeing the accounts receivable department and processing various billing operations. You will also be tasked with analyzing AR-related data, maintaining the AR files, and providing special AR-related reports when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounts receivable department and report any concerns or issues as necessary.

• Process various types of billing including monthly, weekly, and client room and board billing.

• Analyze accounts receivable related data, identify discrepancies, and take necessary action to address and resolve problems.

• Maintain accurate files and documents related to accounts receivable.

• Review aged reports weekly and provide a summary and explanation for all items beyond 30 days with a plan for payment.

• Delegate appropriate tasks and portions of certain tasks to the accounts receivable fiscal associate.

• Process daily intercompany transfers and all payments received.

• Assist with annual audit preparation and annual budget submissions.

• Conduct quarterly reviews of utilization to address any day program issues.

• Process required paperwork for new locations and request location codes as needed.

• Use data from the state's websites to provide special accounts receivable related reports as requested. Requirements • Must have a solid understanding of auditing principles and practices.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is required.

• Ability to accurately enter invoices into the system.

• Familiarity with the functions and operations of a general ledger.

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must have a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Experience with accounting software is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is an advantage.

• Prior experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
