St. Luke's University Health Network Epic Credentialed Trainer in Allentown, Pennsylvania

The Credentialed Trainer is responsible for providing successful IT software training and IT support to a diversified audience for our major Healthcare Network’s/IT Department’s electronic healthcare record system. Utilizes the current Epic system applications as well as future IT project applications. It will require flexible work hours to meet the needs of the user community.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a strong understanding of Information Technology (IT), Epic application(s), and third-party application(s) as implemented at SLUHN

  • Conduct in person and virtual software training classes for the SLUHN community of workforce members as assigned based on credentialing competency

  • Facilitate Network training and communication of changes, enhancements, and upgrade education

  • Demonstrates competency in the curriculum and applications, demonstrating growth, development, and appropriate communication, in the application(s) and/or role(s) for which they are credentialed

  • Identifies and recommends adjustments and updates to educational documents and curriculum based upon direct observation of production usage and training environment and curriculum deficiencies

  • Administers competency tests to end users

  • Maintains training records in the learning management system (My E-Learning) and IT systems as per guidelines

  • Activates end user production access based upon successful completion and all training requirements

  • Responds to end users’ needs and collaborates with other training staff to identify and develop appropriate technology solutions for teaching and learning

  • Provides 1:1 support to all levels of SLUHN Network (both clinical and operational) on IT, Epic and third-party application(s) utilizing their knowledge of technical processes, clinical and revenue workflows, and superior customer service skills

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sit up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 10 hours per day; 8 hours at a time. Walk 6 hours per day; 15 minutes at a time. Consistently lift, carry and push objects up to 10 pounds. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Must be able to hear as it relates normal conversation and high/low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral vision.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, financial, clinical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience with providing training with an (EHR) Electronic Health Record is preferred.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

2 years of experience as SLUHN Credentialed Trainer in Ambulatory, Clinical or Revenue applications and/or 2 years of experience in a formal classroom setting or equivalent environment with excellent classroom facilitation/speaking skills and strong understanding of training methodology. Epic Principal Trainer Proficiency in Training Environment Build for one application within 6 months in position. Active participant in assigned Support Team(s) meetings. Demonstrated knowledge and comfort in fulfilling all levels of requested end user support. 2 – 5 years of healthcare experience preferred.
