Overview

This senior level position is responsible for supporting corporate services and all operating companies with a broad range of duties, including but not limited to promoting physical security, corporate emergency preparedness and response, security compliance requirements, conducting investigations, executive protection, and loss prevention strategies. The Senior Security Professional must have the skills to be able review, understand and implement security requirements for all related compliance issues, lead investigations, and be able to conduct required activities related to loss prevention and Emergency Planning. To hold the Senior Security Professional position; individual must possess a strong security and/or emergency response knowledge base which can be supplemented by formal education in criminal justice or a related field. Responsibilities

  • The Senior Security Professional must be able to oversee and provide leadership with security-related compliance issues that may impact the company. This includes preparation of any required company response to regulatory changes and follow up with appropriate business lines to ensure required changes are implemented, tracked, and documented. Must also be able to review, understand and implement security requirements for all related compliance issues.

  • Incumbent is responsible for and must have the ability to conduct investigations related to: crimes against company property and personnel, including violations of corporate policies, general procedures or standards of conduct. In addition, the incumbent provides critical support to the company's NERC-CIP security process by conducting background investigations for those requiring NERC-CIP clearance or meeting other compliance criteria. This position also provides concise, timely, and informative investigative reports and recommendations to all levels of management.

  • Incumbent must have a broad knowledge base on asset protection measures and the conduct of vulnerability/risk assessments to determine security risks, vulnerabilities and safety concerns and prepare reports of findings and associated recommendations for review and action to appropriate company managers.

  • Incumbent must also have sufficient knowledge to provide technical support in the design, installation, and oversight of various electronic protection systems throughout the company.

  • Incumbent must have knowledge in the area of contingency and emergency planning to provide leadership in the preparation and facilitation of emergency exercises, and monitor/revise contingency procedures for all company facilities.

  • Incumbent provides leadership representing the security department in liaison and partnership with other department leads, emergency coordinators, and crisis management team members in the development/review/execution of various procedures as they relate to the safety and accountability of company personnel during emergency situations.

  • Incumbent provides leadership in the preparation and execution of plans for increased security measures in the event of a work stoppage, a threat level change, and attack that require a response following established guidelines. These guidelines will require the incumbent to be available on-call on a rotating basis to assess, respond and mitigate complex security issues.

  • The incumbent must be able to work independently as a liaison between management personnel and maintain a strong personal working relationship with a diverse cross-section of external law enforcement authorities at all levels.

  • The incumbent must be able to work independently and maintain liaison and support of Board of Director Members and Senior Executives in providing executive protection and services. This includes development of security and contingency plans for Board of Director activities and Senior Executive travel.

  • The incumbent supports and maintains liaison with the contracted security services, including coordination of schedules, emergency needs, key performance indicators, and budget management.

  • Physical presence in the office/on-site to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

  • Incumbent, when meeting applicable requirements, may be required to possess a firearm for work purposes.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education :

Bachelor's Degree BA/BS degree in Criminal Justice or related field.

Experience :

  • 6+ years experience.

  • 10+ years security/law enforcement or investigative experience/ certifications can be substituted for educational background

  • Experience developing security or emergency plans for senior leadership.

  • Experience developing an dpresenting security / emergency training programs to all levels of an organization.

  • Experience interpreting and applying regulatory requirements to operational aspects of an organization.

  • Demonstrated understanding of government regulations related to public safety, security, law enforcement, and / or emergency planning, including federal and state criminal statutes and standards.

  • Demonstrated experience in executive / dignitary protection and planning.

  • Ability and license to operate a motor vehicle.

Licences / Certifications

  • Incident Management and NIMS training, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, ICS 800 and Active Shooter IS 907 is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years in law enforcement with the ability to carry a firearm in any state of the country, pursuant to LEOSA (Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act).

  • Possess or acquire Pa Act 235 (Pa Lethal Weapons Agent) certification within 6 months of hire.

  • MA/MS Criminal Justice or related field preferred.

  • Experience with CCURE physical access control system or similar security system.

  • CPP (Certified Protection Professional), or PSP (Physical Security Professional) or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) certifications through ASIS (American Society of Industrial Security)CEM (Certified Emergency Manager), CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), and/or MBCI (Member Business Continuity Institute).

  • If required, maintain certifications in the areas of compliance, asset protection strategies, investigations and electronic protection systems.
