ACCOUNTING MANAGER - HEALTHCARE REVENUE ACCOUNTING - Private Equity Backed Healthcare Company in Alpharetta

My client, a private equity backed healthcare company in Alpharetta, is searching for an Accounting Manager focused on healthcare revenue accounting. The highly skilled Revenue Recognition and Accounting Manager will oversee their financial processes, ensuring accurate revenue reporting and financial statements. As the Accounting Manager, you will oversee revenue recognition and the monthly close process. You will ensure timely and accurate financial reporting while managing complex accounting tasks. Your role involves leveraging your deep knowledge of US GAAP, healthcare net patient revenue, and accounting practices to address strategic initiatives and enhance existing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the company’s revenue recognition procedures and accounts receivable. Partner with the FP& A/Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team to drive process efficiencies and establish best-in-class practices.

  • Develop and implement processes and controls to ensure complete, accurate revenue recognition, including balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Prepare and review critical month-end files, collaborating with FP& A and RCM to ensure accurate revenue recognition.

  • Update revenue recognition policies and maintain the general ledger in line with US GAAP. Ensure accurate recording and coding of financial transactions.

  • Prepare and review accounting reconciliations, approve journal entries, and perform variance analysis. Manage the financial close process on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

  • Effectively communicate with RCM and FP& A teams about contractual adjustments and bad debt reserves. Liaise with joint venture health system accounting teams as needed.

  • Develop and enforce internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. Monitor controls to minimize risk.

  • Support annual financial objectives and manage projects, including system implementations and upgrades.

    Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting required.

  • CPA certification highly preferred.

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience with public accounting experience through manager level preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare revenue and net patient revenue.

  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven project management abilities and the capacity to collaborate across teams.

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, high integrity, and attention to detail.

  • Experience managing a team.
