Bank OZK Consumer Loan Specialist II (Real Estate) in Alpharetta, Georgia

Job Purpose & Scope

As the primary point of contact in the consumer loan process, the Consumer Loan Specialist is responsible for educating the applicants(s) on the Bank’s loan products and ensuring a complete and compliant loan application. The Consumer Loan Specialist gathers all necessary supporting loan documentation essential for the credit decision and orders the services related to securing the collateral.

Essential Job Functions

  • Consult with applicants about their current and future needs and goals to determine the optimal product path, including discussing loan terms, rates, fees and other costs. Maintain contact with the applicants throughout the various loan stages. Provide regulatory disclosures as required.

  • Effectively communicate with bankers, underwriters and documentation specialists.

  • Perform a general evaluation of assigned loan applications (financial documents, pricing and structure, etc.)

  • Gather all important data and documentation from applicant, ensuring completeness and compliance with current banking regulations and policies

  • Order verification documentation as required by product (Verification of Employment, Verification of Deposits, Verification of Rent, etc.)

  • Order collateral services as required by product (Appraisal, Title, etc.)

  • Manage the timeline of the loan process to ensure on time closings to meet the applicant’s needs and expectations. Coordinate the closing location.

  • Maintain good punctuality and attendance to work

  • Follow Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Consumer Loan products and regulations, including TRID, HMDA, Reg B, ATR/QM and HPML.

  • Ability to communicate effective both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative to accomplish work objectives.

  • Ability to work effectively and demonstrate flexibility in a continually changing environment.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective organization, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with exacting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work without close supervision.

  • Ability to maintain attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to work extended hours.

  • Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of customer service or call center experience, required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the consumer loan origination process, required.

  • NMLS, or successful completion of NMLS process within 45 days of hire, required
