AT&T Principal Member of Technical Staff - Cloud RAN Architect in Alpharetta, Georgia

The Principal Member of Technical Staff role is critical in identifying opportunities to improve deployment speed and reliability, while absorbing the complexity of Cloud RAN infrastructure using GenAI, AI/ML, and Open RAN expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize Cloud RAN solutions, incorporating vRAN, cloud-native technologies, GenAI, AI/ML, and Open RAN expertise.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy zero-touch provisioning systems, leveraging software development and information and data modeling expertise.

  • Leverage deep knowledge of RAN protocols, operational expertise, and AI/ML techniques to drive performance improvements and cost reductions in Cloud RAN and Open RAN environments.

  • Responsibilities include the physical and software realms; these include managing server hardware, cabling, power distribution, and component layout in a data center, as well as configuring network elements, applications, and systems for optimal performance in a cloud environment.

  • Additionally, responsible for regular testing and troubleshooting are conducted to ensure system functionality, along with the utilization of analytical tools to identify potential issues and monitor system performance, all while possessing proficiency in transport protocols, networking, infrastructure, and the design and deployment of transport networks.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Informational Technology, Data Communications from an accredited university. PhD in an approved field or Masters in an approved field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Required Experience:

  • Strong Cloud RAN Expertise - Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to identify and address business requirements.

  • 3-5 years of experience in design and development of Cloud RAN/vRAN architecture solutions to meet AT&T's needs, including identifying hardware, CaaS, and Software requirements, and deliver innovative solutions.

  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies related to Cloud RAN, Open RAN, GenAI, AI/ML, and related fields.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Our Principal Member Technical Staff earn between $160,900.00 - $270,400.00, USD, Annually. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training .
