We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team supporting the Caterpillar Switchgear business within the Electric Power Division (EPD). This position supports the Switchgear leadership team through strong business acumen, leadership skills and intellectual curiosity.

From providing back-up power to hospitals and data centers to delivering emergency power when natural disasters strike, EPD develops the power solutions our customers need to build a better, more sustainable world.

What You Will Do:

  • Create various forecasting and budgeting scenarios based on changing business conditions

  • Support profitable growth initiatives using internal management accounting, analyzing tactical and strategic business opportunities and providing recommendations to Caterpillar Switchgear leadership

  • Provide financial guidance to cross-functional teams, develop accounting methodologies, drive results aligned with financial and business targets.

What You Have:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 5+ years of accounting experience preferably within a large and/or multinational corporation.

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors

  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

  • Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.

  • Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Familiarity with Axiom and PowerBI

Additional Info :

  • This position will be located in Alpharetta, GA

  • This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires a minimum 3 days a week in office

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

  • Sponsorship is not available

  • International and Domestic travel up to 5%
