AT&T Sr Specialist Network Technology Support in Alpharetta, Georgia

As a Sr Specialist Network Technology Support, you will be responsible for the overall reliability and operations of Mobility, and other advanced communication technologies. Performs both fault and lifecycle management to deliver platform technical support on a 24x7 basis to include triage, investigation and remediation of acute and chronic issues that span multiple platforms and technology environment such as IP Core and ATTs Optical. Must understand the End- to-End service to support underlying technologies (VOIP, messaging, Wi-Fi, etc.)

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Part of a 24x7 staff delivering network tech support.

  • Technical support and troubleshoot network platform issues including alarm

  • Investigate/diagnose network issues, triage and communicate event status and coordinate root cause analysis; mitigate/remediate complex technology fault conditions that span multiple production platforms and environments.

  • Solves Tier 2 issues independently and works with additional support teams and vendors as needed.

  • Provide tech solutions and project mgmt. for provisioning, assurance, number admin, inventory, address qualification, and local number portability apps, processes, and practices.

  • Participates in software development project activities including tech/business requirements and design, tech writing and Methods/Proc.

  • Assist in coordination, evaluation, and partnership with tech vendors, outside consultants and internal resources.

  • Provides tech troubleshooting and leadership required to recover from the most complex network problems.

  • Identification of root cause, resolution, work arounds, testing and implementation of vendor/IT fixes or design changes.

  • As Subject Matter Expert works closely with business partners to identify/quantify business issues associated with specific projects, develop/implement business strategy, and assist in setting strategic tech direction in support of customer facing organizations.

  • Review/approve proposed tech system designs.

  • Assists in providing leadership for projects, including collaborating with client to develop business cases, defining business and/or tech requirements and preparing detailed plans/schedules.

  • May lead cross-functional teams on specific issues and/or projects.

  • May review and interpret technical documentation and vendor specs for inclusion/adaptation into database templates.

  • May perform work at customer location.

Required Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ experience. Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role.

  • Sound technical knowledge growing through application, expanding knowledge of ATT technologies.

  • Technical professional with some technical and troubleshooting experience.

Desired Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Computer Sciences or Operations preferred.

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, or other technical discipline

  • CCNA preferred

  • Project Management certifications

Desired Experience:

  • 2 + years’ experience with Network Planning, Engineering, Construction and Mobility architectures

  • 3 + years’ experience with Knowledge of OSI Layer 3

  • Project Management skills

  • Software testing skills

  • Technical writing skills

  • Knowledge of order management and customer install

  • Participation with external professional technical organizations/activities

  • Six Sigma certification (White, Yellow, Green, and/or Orange)

Our Sr. Specialist Network Technology Support earns between $77,800 - $116,800 annually. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
