Eaton Corporation Grind/Machine and Utility Team Lead 3rd Shift in Amarillo, Texas

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Grind/Machine and Utility Team Lead 3rd Shift. The core hours are 8:00 pm to 4:30 am. The hourly rate for this position is $23.15 - $28.94 per hour.

What you’ll do:

Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a 3rd shift Grind/Machining and Utility Team Lead to join our team. This position is based at our Amarillo, TX facility.

The Grind/Machining and Utility Team Lead will operate, make adjustments, and maintain production quality to perform close tolerance operations.

In this function you will:

  • Perform various duties associated with the scheduling of Grind/Machine and Utility Departments, including personnel movements as required

  • Recognize, document and notify supervision of mechanical malfunctions and operating irregularities within the departments

  • Maintain and follow all safety regulations associated and ensure compliance by production employees. Lead and communicate a Zero Incident Safety Culture.

  • Understand and ensure designed TPM functions in departments per MESH requirements.

  • Utilization of production documentation in which to track equipment downtime, setup and production events.

  • Promote a team environment, coach team members as needed for work performance, attendance, communication, etc., and work closely with tooling personnel and maintenance

  • Own a MESH Element supporting the site Safety/Environmental Program

  • Ensure that the equipment is maintained at appropriate levels of cleanliness, utility according to schedules defined and apply 5-S program/perform area cleaning

  • Perform and maintain various recordkeeping duties and recording instruments

  • Perform other duties as assigned throughout the facility.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a manufacturing setting

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Amarillo Texas will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior leadership experience

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution

Skills:

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for 8-12 hours, work at varied heights, and to lift 50 pounds

  • Understanding and ability to safely operate hand tools, including jack hammers

  • Ability to follow all safety regulations associated

  • Ability to comprehend, follow, and perform moderately technical standards and maintenance procedures as well as use precision gauging instruments and apply basic math skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and schedules

  • Forklift and frontend loader certified

  • Ability to wear a respirator

  • Ability to work around molten metal and in a production environment that is at times very hot or very cold, and subject to unexpected swings of overtime (ability to flex personal schedule to cover tasks on other shifts – frequent weekends and holidays)

  • Ability to work proactively and communicate effectively while working with all employees throughout plant and under limited supervision

  • Ability to perform basic computer functions: eSafety, MESH Prism, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, and SAP
