JOB TITLE: SPECIALTY COURT PROGRAM DIRECTOR
JOB SUMMARY: This position serves as the internal coordinator for the Panhandle Regional Veterans Treatment Court and the Panhandle Regional Problem Solving Court, serves as a team member on each court, and reports to the Administrative Judge of the Potter County Courts of Law.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field + two (2) full-time years of related work experience. -OR- Associate's degree in a related field + three (3) full-time years of related work experience. -OR- High School Diploma or equivalent required + five (5) full-time years of related work experience. Have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. Direct experience in grant writing and grant administration. Direct experience in criminal justice, mental / behavioral health, or program management and coordination. Have strong communication and organizational skills. Have the ability to assume responsibility and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision. Have the ability to handle confidential information. TASKS AND SKILLS REQUIRED 1. Act as liaison and coordinator between judge and court team; 2. Conduct initial review of applications and initial interview of candidates for the court; 3. Maintain records, MOUs with provider and community partners, program statistics, and data collection; 4. Revise and update court policies and procedures; 5. Prepare and maintain court dockets; 6. Attend all court sessions; 7. Research grant opportunities and write grant proposals; 8. Work with county auditor to assure compliance with grants; 9. Ensure courts maintain compliance with Texas Association of Specialty Courts - Best Practices; 10. Ensure courts maintain compliance with Office of Court Administration rules; 11. Provide required reports to the Office of Court Administration; 12. Work with the judge to promote the court in the community; 13. Administer donations; 14. Assist in the development of treatment plans and understand the continuum of care and treatment issues; 15. Research training opportunities and disseminate information to team members; 16. Provide training and updates to specialty court team members and other specialty court stakeholders; 17. Coordinate and provide referrals with local treatment providers for specialty court participants and applicants; 18. Assist local treatment providers in their organization's grant applications and provide court data; 19. Coordinate with the jail, prosecuting agencies, defense counsel, the VA, and local treatment providers to identify potential candidates for specialty courts; 20. Coordinate with specialty court team to develop budgets; 21. Travel to treatment providers, court, and the jail is required; 22. Maintain education and licensure requirements for the position; 23. Other tasks as assigned by the judge of the court
