About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will manage and optimize the supply chain processes related to operations and maintenance activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement and delivery of materials and services. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

  • Supply Chain Management:

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end supply chain processes for operations and maintenance, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.

  • Evaluates assigned contract scopes of work.

  • Reviews requests for assigned materials, parts and/or services and verifies specifications with requester as necessary. Develops unique solutions for complex sourcing problems.

  • Conducts Bid Opening, prepares Bid Ranking, prepares bid clarification requests, and issues to selected bidder(s) and coordinates bidder clarification meetings.

  • When necessary, performs preliminary Commercial Evaluation with team to select successful bidder and to identify negotiating points.

  • Coordinates meetings and leads negotiations with selected bidder as necessary.

  • Oversees conversion of requisitions to Purchase Orders (PO’s) and enters PO’s into the purchasing system and verifies accuracy of data. Issues purchase orders to suppliers.

  • Records shipment and delivery details.

  • Oversees and ensures timely response to accounting for invoicing or other needs to process or close out orders.

  • Vendor Relations:

  • Identifies approved supplier or sources new supplier when necessary for materials or services.

  • Corresponds with or interview suppliers to negotiate price, specifications, and delivery information.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable supply of materials and services.

  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations.

  • Works with suppliers to ensure that corrective action responses to OS&D’s (Overage, Shortage & Damage) are timely and results are satisfactory.

  • Inventory:

  • Receives, verifies, and performs or receives visually inspections of equipment and materials at the responsible warehouses.

  • Ensures that inventory transactions are entered efficiently and accurately into the material controls system and is responsible for the integrity of the inventory.

  • Stocks equipment and material according to established safety, operating and inventory control procedures.

  • Maintains an organized and easily accessible inventory area.

  • Ensures that location is clearly labeled if appropriate and notifies Supervisor when space is not adequate.

  • Ensures that security of the warehouse and other inventory locations is maintained.

  • Uses dolly, flatbed, forklift or other material handling equipment to transport material from receiving to warehouse or yard area.

  • Ensures proper handling and storage of items.

  • Assists with loading and unloading trucks using safe work habits, when present for delivery.

  • Communications/Team:

  • Prepares and distributes Procurement status reports to ensure effective and timely internal and external communication.

  • Assists in achieving yearly goals and targets set by Supply Chain Manager.

  • Coordinates, trains, and oversees work of others who assist in specific assignments.

  • Activities Performed on an Intermittent or Occasional Basis

  • Performs other duties as assigned. May work on special projects. May provide back up for other employees.

Qualifications

  • Hold a High school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Management, Logistics or related field highly desired or equivalent work experience in purchasing and supply chain.

  • Have product knowledge of all materials and services being purchased, what is being built and supplier base required.

  • Demonstrate complete understanding of procurement processes, procedures and terminology, sourcing strategy, commercial terms, applicable laws and regulations, the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and other Company policies and procedures.

  • Ability to persuade individuals with differing opinions or interest to change criteria or methods, accept findings or reach agreement on a variety of technical or commercial points.

  • Proficiency with Procurement Software, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software and MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with ability to download, manipulate and report data.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with suppliers and intra-company interfaces.

  • Ability to pay close attention to details.

  • Good planning, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Ideally, you also have

  • A forklift certification and the ability to safely operate a Forklift and other Material Handling equipment as required.

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Spends time in an office, warehouse, and field environment.

  • Will travel to substations, field offices, or laydown yards as necessary

  • Travel Requirements: 20%

  • May involve occasional lifting and carrying of materials, as well as extended periods of sitting and working at a computer.
