Job Title: Mechanical DrafterJob Description
Review engineering and contract mechanical drawings, review and understand project specifications, prints, and submittals. Survey existing field conditions for coordination and conflict resolution. Draw piping, plumbing, and HVAC sheetmetal models. Participate in or direct project coordination meetings with all other trades. Work with the Prefabrication Manager to seek out any gains in efficiency and productivity within the company.
Responsibilities
Review engineering and contract mechanical drawings.
Understand project specifications, prints, and submittals.
Survey existing field conditions for coordination and conflict resolution.
Draw piping, plumbing, and HVAC sheetmetal models.
Participate in or direct project coordination meetings with all other trades.
Collaborate with the Prefabrication Manager to improve efficiency and productivity.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Revit MEP.
Experience in design, drafting, mechanical engineering, and 3D modeling.
Mechanical drafting skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's degree in CAD/Revit, or at least two years of experience with Revit.
6+ months of experience with CAD/Revit if possessing a degree.
Relevant internships or coursework in HVAC/Piping design for recent graduates.
Work Environment
Design work primarily involves sitting at a desk drawing for current projects. The dress code is business casual, such as polo shirts and khakis. The typical work week consists of 40 hours. The work environment is a cubicle setting, sitting next to coworkers, including two drafters and one BIM Manager. Depending on the project, candidates will work either independently or with some of their peers.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00
