Job Description:

Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of programs and projects in support of GPS business area. Drives program execution to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participate in the negotiation of contracts, preparation of proposals, preparation of business and program plans, development Statements of Work and be responsible for the profit/loss of assigned programs. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas. Must possess excellent communication/presentation skills and be able to work effectively with diverse personalities and various levels of management. Travel will be required.

Essential Functions:

  • Experience as a Program Manager with DoD related programs in a progressively more responsible technical and program leadership positions is required.

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral, are required.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Project Scheduler.

  • Ability to construct and manage to a WBS & SOW is required.

  • Familiar with the Project Management Institutes PMBOK and Earned Value Management Systems is also required.

  • Maintain constant awareness of program objectives, plans, schedules, upcoming events, risks, issues, changes and change-control, and current performance status.

  • Maintain constant vigilance in all day-to-day activities to assure proactive management of risk, issues, and changes.

  • Assure customer performance commitments are met, and program assets are effectively managed.

  • Ability to work extended hours

  • Extensively analyzes problems to seek understanding of the root cause of the problem.

  • Ensure compliance with internal program procedures and project control system guidelines.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

  • US Citizenship is required for this position.

  • Secret Security Clearance is required for this position.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Formal training in Project Management, including PMP certification is preferred.

  • Develop integrated master schedules using IMP, SOW and WBS.

  • Perform Critical Path Analysis, Schedule Risk Analysis, and Schedule Metric Analysis

  • Create High Level Schedule Charts for monthly Internal Program Reviews

  • Advance knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems

  • Ability to construct and manage to a WBS & SOW

  • Develop integrated master schedules using IMP, SOW and WBS.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with frequent demanding deadlines

  • Work consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area.

  • Recommends tactics and strategies that will directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results.

  • Work to influence others to accept individual or team’s views or practices and changes to concepts, practices, and approaches.

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $122,500.00 - $227,500.00 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
