ENSTAR Natural Gas Gas Supply Analyst in Anchorage, Alaska
JOB SUMMARY:
The Gas Supply Analyst administers ENSTAR's gas supply portfolio; monitors gas purchases, accounting, and transportation activities on ENSTAR's pipelines; and is responsible for modeling future gas needs, purchase costs, and transportation fees. This position also supports gas supply negotiations, gas control operations and inter-departmental processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and maintain system for monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing gas demand.
- Develop and maintain system for monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing gas supply market.
- Support gas forecasting modeling software Gas Day/Gas Hour and gas nominations systems Iliamna and Susitna.
- Assist with ENSTAR's development of supply, storage, and transportation plans for long-term and short-term gas supply requirements.
- Manage and administer gas supply and storage contracts.
- Follow Cook Inlet gas supply market news, pipeline tariffs, AOGCC filings, regulatory proceedings to keep the Gas Supply team informed.
- Provide training support to Gas Control team regarding the methods and procedures for daily gas forecasting and gas purchasing.
- Provide Gas Supply support to Regulatory and Accounting teams.
- Communicate with internal departments and external gas producers, pipeline companies, and other utilities to build strong business relationships.
- Support ENSTAR's transportation customers and monitor their activities for regulatory and contractual compliance.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four-year degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Economics or related field required;
- Minimum of five years' progressively responsible work experience, including substantial experience in forecasting and modeling is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to use/learn other technologies.
- Knowledge of natural gas supply market and gas industry operation.
- Must possess a valid Alaska Driver's License and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the ENSTAR's Driving Policy.
- Ability to pass a background, past employment, credit, drug, and driving record screening.

- Excellent analytical, project management and organizational skills with the ability to evaluate data. Demonstrated financial and business-related problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to effectively work with contractors, consultants, governmental agencies, and other departments/personnel to accomplish ENSTAR's objectives.

- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and is open to take on a variety of operational challenges.
