Job Information

Open only to the general public and any Municipal Employee.

This position is represented by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 302, and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance & Operations

HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Sunday, hours vary

LOCATION: 5701 Northwood Drive

Example of Duties

Under the general supervision, operates various types of light equipment, and performs manual labor to accomplish street maintenance activities, including but not limited to: patching potholes, replace/repair sidewalks, cut brush, and snow removal from trails and sidewalks. Assist in equipment maintenance including oiling, greasing, and changing wear surfaces on various types of equipment. Perform other required duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and one (1) year experience in the operation of light equipment

At the time of hire, must possess and/or obtain:

  • Valid State of Alaska Commercial Driver's License, Class B (CDL-B) with tanker (N) endorsement.

  • Satisfactory DMV driving record.

  • Satisfactory drug screening.

  • Satisfactory background check, which includes criminal, education, and employment history.

    Preference

    • Flagger certification.
