Painter Full time 40/HRS Monday-Friday Day shift 745am-415pm Pay starting at $22/HR Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Immediately seeking a full time Painter to perform necessary surface preparation and painting for a large housing complex.

Painters will be responsible for painting walls, woodwork and fixtures and should be knowledgeable of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications.

Previous painting experience is required. An understanding of paint preparation (taping, sanding, sheet rock repair) preferred.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Perform painting duties as assigned including surface preparation, apply paint as appropriate, keep paint off carpets, floors, wood-stained cabinets, countertops, appliances, wall cover plates, and fixtures, providing a clean, attractive, finished product within required timelines.
• Repair and install sheet rock with space up to a 4x8 sheet, to include mud, sand, texture and painting of surfaces.
• Occasionally assist in custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning windows, etc., in common areas, residential units and in other work areas.
• Responsible for reporting units that are seen as presenting any health, fire or safety concerns.
• Greet/interact with residents in a professional manner.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and work vehicles.
• Inspect units to determine damage to the unit and the specific maintenance needs.
• Participate in work-safety programs.
• May be required to cover work hours that are in addition to normally scheduled work.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the direct supervisor and/or Management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Alaska drivers license
• Prior paint experience
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Background will be viewed
• Drug free environment
